About Faye

Hi, I'm Faye and I'm the owner + baker of Sugar Petals Cakes.

I love the whole creative process of making a wedding cake from designing, baking, and decorating.  My love of baking started at a young age helping my mom make (and eat!)  her delicious cakes.

 

When I moved to NYC some years ago, I discovered the art of wedding cakes working as a baking assistant for Gail Watson Cake.  I saw her beautiful sugar flowers and elegant tiered cakes and fell in love with the craft!  Until now, baking is my favorite thing to do.

Since I started Sugar Petals Cakes, here in Lancaster, I've met a lot of amazing couples and had the honor of creating something special for them.  If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind, beautiful, and delicious cake, please get in touch! I am so excited to meet you and create your dream cake!

The Small Details

I bake all the cakes from scratch with carefully selected ingredients.  I'm always told my cakes are full of flavor without being too sweet!  I use silky Italian Meringue buttercream or premium fondant that makes a cake extra special.  As a baker, it is important to me that your cake tastes great as it looks!

The sugar flowers are handcrafted from a sugar dough called gum paste.  The petals are rolled out, cut, and assembled to make beautiful flowers such as roses, hydrangeas, peonies, and more.  They are perfect decorations for your cake!  You can also keep a bouquet of sugar flowers from your cake as a wonderful memento of your wedding day.
